About

Fusion Camp at the University of Arizona is a summer camp in Tucson featuring science activities, arts and crafts, exploration of science exhibits, planetarium shows, and outdoor activity time for kids entering grades 1st through 5th in the fall semester. All sessions are taught by educators with a passion for inspiring a love of learning and fun!

Dates

All sessions are Monday through Friday. Families may sign up for one, two, or three weeks.

  • Week I: June 5 to 9, 2023
  • Week II: June 12 to 16, 2023
  • Week III: June 19 to 23, 2023

Times

Drop off time: 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pick up time: 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Age Groups

Please register for the grade your camper will be entering in Fall 2023. We will have two age groups:

  • Grades 1-2
  • Grades 3-5

Cost

General Public: $375/week

Flandrau Members: $335/week

Flandrau Member Registration is Now Open

Priority registration is now open for members. You may become a member at any point during the early registration window and register. These camps fill up fast!

Registration opens for general public: Monday, March 27 at 10:00 a.m.

Week One: June 5-9, 2023

1st - 2nd Grade - Ocean Adventurers

Dive in and learn about amazing creatures that live in the ocean, such as plankton, fish, urchins, and sea stars. Even though we're miles away from the ocean, you will have the opportunity to meet some of these organisms up close in our new Undersea Discovery exhibit.

3rd - 5th Grade - Lego® Challenge

Are you up for a challenge? Get ready to use Legos® to build machines and solve engineering challenges. You’ll explore engineering concepts as you build, test, and improve your machines.

Week Two: June 12-16, 2023

1st - 2nd Grade - Junior Astronomers

The discoveries are endless when you look to the stars. Become a junior astronomer as you learn about our galaxy, how to identify planets in our solar system, and learn the stories of the night sky in our planetarium theater. We will explore our galaxy and beyond!

3rd - 5th Grade - Incredible Insects

Wild World of Bugs - Family Preview

Did you know there are more insects on the planet than humans? Grab your nets, bug jars, and magnifying glasses to learn about some of nature's smallest crawling, creeping, and flying friends as we explore the incredible world of insects.

1st - 2nd Grade - LEGO® Builders

Got levers, pulleys, gears, wheels and axles? We do! Explore the world of simple machines with LEGOs® and more. Gear up for fun and learning in this construction camp that's perfect for all budding engineers.

3rd - 5th Grade - Oceans: Diving Deeper
