Flandrau is closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Fourth of July hours are 12PM to 4PM.

Top parking tips

  1. Use our free parking! We have limited parking for Flandrau visitors located on the yellow curb on the south side of Hawthorne street.* Ask the front desk for your parking pass! See pin.
  2. Street parking is free on weekends. No need to pay through the parking app.
  3. Download the Passport app to pay for street parking on weekdays. If our visitor parking is full, make sure you have your license plate number and credit/debit card handy to pay through the app. Parking is currently $2 per hour. (Download app links: Apple | Google).
  4. Consider the nearby Cherry Garage for covered, overflow parking (directions). Cherry Garage parking rates are now in effect 24/7.

*Free visitor parking is subject to availability and not guaranteed. Field trip school buses get priority on weekday mornings. 

 

The Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium inspires visitors of all ages with the wonders of science. Located on the University of Arizona campus, Flandrau offers planetarium shows powered by a state-of-the-art fulldome digital projection system and hands-on science exhibits about science topics from earth to space, and more. Come enjoy fun, captivating science for the whole family!

Recommended age for exhibits: 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an individual at or above the age of 16.

Limited Flandrau Guest Parking
We offer a limited number of free 2–hour curbside parking spaces on Hawthorne Street directly north of Flandrau (see map for the yellow "Limited Flandrau Guest Parking"). After purchasing admission, ask at the front desk for a permit to place on your dashboard. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hourly Pay Parking

You can often find open hourly pay spaces on First Street and Second Street, both north of Flandrau (see map for blue "Hourly Pay Parking" areas). To pay for these spaces, download the Passport Parking app (APPLE | GOOGLE), enter your license plate, and Passport zone number. All metered spaces on campus are free after 9pm! Click here for more info on how to pay for parking meters.

Garage Parking
You can find nearby garage parking any time at the Cherry Avenue Garage just south of Flandrau. Click here for most up-to-date information on hourly rates. We are unable to offer parking validation or free garage parking.

Handicap Parking
There are two paid handicap parking spaces behind our building (see map for light blue areas). Click here for more info on how to pay for parking meters. Additional spots are available after 5pm (see map for pink areas), but are UA Handicap Permit Only Monday - Friday, 7am to 5pm.

Flandrau Guest Parking
We offer a limited number of free curbside parking spaces on Hawthorne Street directly north of Flandrau (see map for yellow "Limited Flandrau Guest Parking"). After purchasing admission, ask at the front desk for a permit to place on your dashboard. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hourly Pay Parking
Metered spaces on First Street and Second Street, both north of Flandrau (see map for green "Hourly Meter Parking" areas) are free on Saturday and Sunday!

Handicap Parking
On Saturday and Sunday, there are options for handicap parking. There are 4 spots behind our building, and 5 to the northeast (see map for light blue and pink areas).

You can reach us by the SunLink Street Car! We are one block south of the 2nd Street/Cherry Avenue Stop.

You can reach Flandrau by the Sun Tran bus system. Routes 15, 9 and 20 stop directly across the street from Flandrau — your stop being the "UA Mall."
