Summer Fusion Camp

Join us for Summer Fusion Camp at Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium at the University of Arizona, and get ready for a summer of discovery, creativity, and adventure at our engaging and educational science camps! Each week offers an exciting new theme, from exploring Earth’s diverse ecosystems to unraveling the mysteries of the cosmos. Young scientists will get hands-on with experiments and activities that spark curiosity and innovation. Whether they’re investigating the wonders of space, diving into the world of invention, or uncovering the science behind the gross and gooey, campers will be inspired to explore, create, and dream big. - Week 1 – May 26th-29th, 2026 (6th-8th)
- Week 2 – June 8th-12th, 2026 (2nd-5th)
- Week 3 – June 15th-19th, 2026 (2nd-5th)
- Week 4 – June 22nd-26th, 2026 (2nd-5th)
- Week 5 – June 29th-July 3rd, 2026 (2nd-5th)
Times
Drop off time: 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pick up time: 3:30 to 4:00 p.m.
Cost
Non-Member Rate: $395 per child/week
Flandrau Member Rate: $355 per child/week
Members save $40 per week per child. Basic memberships start at just $95 and last a year. Become a member!
Weekly Themes
Week 1: May 26th - 29th
6th - 8th Graders - Space Mission: Wildcat
Launch into space exploration with the university in this special four-day camp! Featuring field trips to campus locations like the Astrobiology Center, special guests including black holes researchers, and astronomy-focused planetarium shows that will expand your understanding of the universe.
Week 2: June 8th - 12th
2nd - 3rd Graders - Zoom In!
Test your observation skills while learning about the worlds invisible to the naked eye! In this camp we’ll explore tiny but mighty parts of our world, such as microscopic creatures living in pond water to matter important in chemical reactions.
4th - 5th Graders - Black Hole Odyssey
Explore the inner workings of our universe and learn about galaxies, stars, dark matter, black holes and more! This camp will unlock some of the mysteries of our universe with special guests from the UA Department of Astronomy.

Week 3: June 15th - 19th
2nd - 3rd Graders - Space Adventures
Are you ready for a space adventure? Join us for a galactic journey through our solar system to learn about planets, moons, comets, space exploration and much more! Be ready for an out of this world experience.
4th - 5th Graders - Nature's Fury
Brace yourself as we explore nature’s extremes such as monsoons, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, and more. We will investigate how these forces shape life on Earth and learn how scientists help us understand and survive them.
Week 4: June 22nd - 26th
2nd - 3rd Graders - Construction Zone
Unleash your inner builder with a week of designing and building! Campers will use basic engineering principles to design, construct, and test various machines and structures, such as rovers, rockets, and bridges.
4th - 5th Graders - Force & Fizz
Are you ready to experiment with physics and chemistry? In this camp you’ll participate in exciting investigations involving feats of physics and mysterious chemical reactions. Goggles will be provided!
Week 5: June 29th - July 3rd
2nd - 3rd Graders - Below the Surface
What’s lurking beneath the surface? In this camp we’ll explore the science of caves, depths of the ocean, layers of the Earth, and more mysterious locations. Be prepared to learn about hidden worlds as we dig deeper than ever before.
4th - 5th Graders - Engineering Quest
If you like to problem solve, construct, and create, this camp is made for you! Test your designing and building skills in a series of fun daily challenges creating various contraptions such as rockets, boats, and much more!

Registration opens for Flandrau members on March 2nd, 2026 at 9:00am. Registration opens for non-members on March 9th, 2026 at 9:00am.
2nd - 3rd Grade Registration

4th - 5th Grade Registration
Enroll for one or more of the camps listed above for kids entering 4th-5th grade in 2026-27 school year.
6th - 8th Grade Registration
Enroll for the May 26th-29th camp for kids entering 6th-8th grade in 2026-27 school year.
