At Flandrau, Little Amal will receive a garland of stars, a gift made by Tucson children. Because most of the elements of our bodies come from the original formation of stars over billions of years, the gift symbolizes our common origins and that we are all made of stars!

Flandrau's Planetarium Director Shiloe Fontes will say a few words before presenting the garland, made by visitors to Flandrau over the past few months, in front of Flandrau at approx. 4:45 p.m.

More about Little Amal's Journey

Little Amal is on an 11,000 mile walk across the United States and Mexico. You're invited to make a difference by walking with Amal, the puppet who is raising money for refugee children.

Little Amal is an international symbol of compassion, human rights, and hope. She carries a heavy message: to not forget about those who have been displaced from their homes and families.
