The Basics

Camps dates: June 4th-July 13th

Hours: 9am-4pm

Cost: $250 (except Week 5, which is $200)
*No Camp 4th of July*

Early Care: 7:30am - 8:30am, $5 per day or $20 per week

After Care: 4:30pm - 5:30pm, $5 per day or $20 per week

Grade Level: Entering Fall 2018

Registration: We open general registration for summer camps on March 1st and priority registration is given a week prior for Flandrau members on February 22nd.

Week 1, June 4th-8th
Star Light, Star Bright

Stars aren't just for wishing! This week you'll learn all about the sun, our nearest star, and the millions of far-away specks of light you see when you look up on a clear night. A trip to our FullDome planetarium theater will make this an out-of-this-world experience!

Week 2, June 11th-15th
Where the Wild Things Are(FULL)

Let the wild rumpus begin! This week you'll explore the world of Max, king of all wild things, by learning about the jungle and all the creatures that live in it! Explore how these animals adapt to their habitats and what makes them unique! Join us for a week of adventure!

Week 3, June 18th-22nd
Under the Sea (FULL)

Dive in and learn about animals that live in the deep blue sea, including fish, turtles, urchins and sea stars. Even though we're miles away from the ocean, you will have the opportunity to meet some of these creatures up close in the Museum's Marine Discovery Lab.

Week 4, June 25th-29th
Dino-Might (FULL)

Dinosaurs didn't disappear without a trace. They left behind tons of clues. We'll learn about their lives through fossilized bones, dinosaur tracks, eggs and other prehistoric evidence that can be found in our Museum's very own Fossil Corner.

Slimy Science

Slime, Oobleck and Goo make this camp icky and sticky. Learn about the properties of matter as we explore solids, liquids and gases. Mix, feel, and transform these substances into slimy creations of your own!

Insect Patrol(FULL)

Grab your nets, bug jars, and magnifying glasses to learn about some of nature's smallest crawling, creeping, and flying friends as we explore the world of insects in our Insect Discovery Lab.

ZOO-ology (FULL)

Learn about your favorite animals throughout the week, and who takes care of them. Some will be wild, some will be captive, some may even be someone's favorite pet! Campers are sure to enjoy this animal adventure!

Week 2, June 11th-15th
Reef Motel (FULL)

Dive into a week of ocean fun without leaving the desert! Learn about the unique marine habitats of the world and discover the rare and amazing animals that live there. You won't need a wetsuit for this journey that will take us everywhere from the frozen arctic to the warm and colorful coral reefs.

Sky Gazer (FULL)

This stellar camp will take you on a galactic journey through the Milky Way and beyond. We'll explore our solar system, create comets, find meteorites, and make our very own craters like our moon. We'll make sure this camp takes you to infinity and beyond!

Engineering Simple Machines (FULL)

Got levers, pulleys, gears, wheels and axles? We do! Explore the world of simple machines with LEGOs® and more. Gear up for fun and learning in this construction camp that's perfect for all budding engineers.

Magic School Bus (FULL)

Beep beep! Seatbelts, everyone! Hop on board as we explore the world of Magic School Bus! Where will Ms. Frizzle take us? Swinging through the stars? Rafting on a river a lava? Through the human body? Find out during this week where we'll discover many hidden mysteries about life, while having a blast!

Week 6, July 9th-13th
Inspector T-Rex (FULL)

Take a journey through time as you learn about dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes through stories, hands-on activities, and science investigations. Examine dino fossils in the Museum's Fossil Corner and create some of your own. Guaranteed to be a roaring good time!

Enviro-Art (FULL)

Turn trash into treasure, in this camp that shows you how to give new life to items discarded by people and found in nature. At the end of this week, you'll take home works of art and other items made better the second time around!

Week 2, June 11th-15th
Dynamic Earth (FULL)

Our planet is the only one in the solar system where we know life exists. We'll explore what makes up the soil, what role rocks play in supporting life, why rain is so important, and create volcanoes that explode. This camp will rock your world!

Week 3, June 18th-22nd
Jumanji (FULL)

Roll the die and take a chance with the board game that has a mind of its own! Explore the wild side of the jungle, solve puzzles and gather clues, all while learning how to escape danger, survive natural disasters, and more! Join us for a guaranteed adventure in the unknown and mysterious world of Jumanji!

Week 4, June 25th-29th
Sea Exploration (FULL)

This week we will take a look at microscopic marine organisms, all the way to the massive animals in the oceans to get a complete idea of ocean biodiversity. This camp will answer questions about a wide range of animal life as well as excite your inner marine biologist!

Salute to Solutions(FULL)

Messy scientists have been spotted at the Museum! Create solutions that are sticky, slimy, and just plain weird. We promise you'll be saturated with solutions by the end of the week.

Motorized Machines (FULL)

Do you like to build machines that move? During this LEGO® engineering camp, you'll explore engineering concepts as you build, test, and improve your machines to go further and faster across the finish line.

CSI: Tucson (FULL)

Become a super sleuth as you explore different types of evidence like footprints, fibers, handwriting, fingerprints, and DNA, that will help you answer the age-old question - whodunit? You'll be ready to say 'case closed' by the end of the week!

Engineering Design Squad (FULL)

This camp is crammed with fun activities designed to get you to investigate problems through hands-on team challenges that bring engineering to life. With limited time and materials, does your team have the skills and ingenuity to solve these engineering challenges? Find out when you join us for this designer's paradise!

Renewable LEGO® Machines (FULL)

If building machines is your thing then why not try to power them with the sun, wind or water?! We will use renewable energy to power various LEGO® machines and put our sustainability ideas to the test!

Week 4, June 25th-29th
Sci-Wizards (FULL)

Grab your wands and join us as we explore the ins and outs of the wizarding world! Practice your potion making skills, learn about unique plants in herbology, and find out the magic of everyday creatures. Muggles, don't miss the chance to explore your inner wizard during this enchanting camp!

Is it a trick of the hand, or a trick of the mind? This camp will explore the science behind the magic of illusion. Discover how your eyes and brain can be fooled and wow your family and friends with your mastery of illusions!

This week campers will explore Earth's extreme environments. From the ocean depths to deep space join us for some extreme science fun!
