Fusion Camp

Summer 2020 Fusion Update

It is with much sadness that we inform you that UA Fusion Summer Camps will be canceled for summer 2020.

This decision is in line with steps the University of Arizona has taken to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and as a science center, we are compelled to follow the science and best practices for social distancing as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Arizona Department of Public Health.

I’m sure many of you will have questions regarding your refunds. We are working on the process to get refunds initiated in a timely manner. We ask for your patience but know we will reach out to you in order for you to receive a 100% refund.

We will continue to work closely with the University of Arizona to coordinate our efforts and will plan to reopen to the public when the time is right. Please continue to check our website and look for announcements via email and social media for updates. We look forward to welcoming you back to UA Fusion Camp and Flandrau in the future.

Sincerely,

Do you want your kids to stay active and learning during school breaks? Choose Fusion Camps to promote active minds and bodies school breaks!

Fusion Camp is a partnership with Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium and the UArizona Bookstore held during the summer and winter breaks, offering themed camps that are infused with scientific exploration, literacy, creative arts, and fitness. The camps provide children with unique hands-on experiences that promote a love for learning. Our popular Fusion Camps are located at the amazing Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium on the University of Arizona campus.

There are many ways of learning, including through creative arts and physical activity. Not only will each day include hands-on science explorations but we infuse with literacy and creative arts as vehicles to teach concepts, as well as time for physical activity and to explore the science center’s exhibit galleries. With trips to the UA Rec Center and Gittings Gym during the summer, campers are sure to engage their bodies as well as their minds. During Winter Break Day Camps we utilize the UArizona Mall for our physical activity time.

We are fortunate to be a part of a rigorous academic environment at the University of Arizona and so we select undergraduate and graduate students with backgrounds in education or science to serve as counselors as well as local teachers. All of our counselors are trained extensively.
