Board Game Day @ Flandrau!

Tuesday, December 5, 2017

Put down your phone and join the fun! Board games bring families together over the holidays. This holiday season, Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium will host a Board Game Day with special guest UA Professor Dante Lauretta, a board game designer who also happens to be the lead scientist for the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission! We’ll provide tables with board games, special reduced $4 admission, and have games available for purchase, including the two games designed by Dr. Lauretta – Xtronaut: The Game of Solar System Exploration and Constellations: The Game of Stargazing and the Night Sky.

During the holiday season, board games are a great way to get the family together (and pull everyone away from their screens). In fact, board games have been proven to sharpen concentration and critical thinking for kids and adults. They’re also a perfect way for families to play together and bond together, so put down the phones and join the fun!

To celebrate board games, Flandrau will host a Board Game Day on Saturday, December 16, from 1-4pm. Special guest game designer Dante Lauretta will be there to play games and sign copies of the two educational board games he has designed: Xtronaut: The Game of Solar System Exploration and Constellations: The Game of Stargazing and the Night Sky.

We’ll also have a variety of board games available to play and to purchase. Plus, visitors can explore our interactive science exhibits and see planetarium shows, including our exclusive holiday shows! We welcome families to play and learn together at Board Game Day!

When: December 16, 1pm-4pm

Admission: Special "Board Game Day" pricing, $4 admission to Flandrau and all exhibits from 10 am to 4 pm. Planetarium shows regular price, $8 for adults, $6 for children 4-17.
