Winter Fusion Camps

The Basics

COST: $55 per day (10% Flandrau Member Discount)

DATES: December 30th – January 3rd (No Camp Jan. 1st)

TIMES: 9am-4pm

EARLY CARE: 7:30-8:30am, $5 per day

AFTER CARE: 4:30-5:30pm, $5 per day

AGE GROUPS: Kindergarten-2nd grade, and 3rd-6th grade

There's No Place like Space (December 30th)

Get ready to blast off into space as we explore our solar system through hands on fun! Learn about the stars and planets during a show in our planetarium theater.

All About Sharks (December 31st)

Dive into life under the sea in our Marine Discovery Lab and Sharks exhibit. We will learn about shark anatomy and behaviors as well as visit to our planetarium theater to see Great White Shark.

New Year's Day (January 1st)

NO CAMP

Levers, Gears and Pulleys, LEGO® Simple Machines (January 2nd)

Dinosaurs didn't disappear without a trace. They left behind tons of clues. We'll learn about their lives through fossilized bones, dinosaur tracks, eggs and other prehistoric evidence that can be found in our Museum's very own Fossil Corner.

Zany Science (January 3rd)

Push the limits of your inner mad scientist during this day of  fun experimentation. Turn the ordinary into the amazing as you observe everyday items ooze, bubble, fizz, and pop!

If Legos®, are your thing, then this camp is for you! Engineer advanced machines and test your creations’ abilities through challenges with other campers.

Lego® Master Builders Part II (December 31st)

Day II of this camp will build on the previous Lego® challenges. Can your innovations improve your machines’ abilities?

New Year's Day (January 1st)

We Are Stars (January 2nd)

Discover cosmic chemistry and our explosive origins. Learn how hydrogen, helium and carbon, the very building blocks of life, formed in the start of the universe and then bring it all back to us – we are made of stars!

3-2-1 Blast Off! (January 3rd)

Orbiters, Landers, Rovers, oh my! We’ll explore various spacecraft and their purposes. Build your own spacecraft and answer the questions: will it orbit a planet or asteroid? Will it land on a planet or moon? Or, will it rove around the surface of a planet, moon or asteroid? The sky’s the limit with your creativity in this camp.
